Hey YouTube creators — is your channel working as hard as it could be?
We started digging into our analytics and saw it might not be. Turns out, many of you on YouTube don’t have your Spring store integrated, or if you DO have it set up, you aren’t using it to its full potential.
We totally get it — life as a creator can be a bit overwhelming. There’s always so. much. to. do. But our YouTube integration only takes a few minutes to set up — and it’ll turn your channel into a 24/7 storefront that helps you earn revenue while you sleep. The best part? You’re already creating the content, so why not maximize its earning potential?
How to Set Up Your Integration in 4 Simple Steps
If you haven’t set up your integration yet, don’t stress! It only takes four simple steps to transform your YouTube channel into a revenue-generating machine:
1. Link your store to your channel to start selling on YouTube
This happens on the YouTube Studio side. Head over to YouTube Studio, click “Earn” in the left Menu, then click on the Shopping tab. From there, you can connect your Spring store to your YouTube channel.
If you don’t see the Shopping tab, it might mean you aren’t eligible for the program yet. Click here to read more about the requirements.
Remember to set ‘Display Products’ to ‘ON’ so that your items show up in your YouTube store. This is crucial — without this step, your fans won’t see any of your awesome merch!
2. Curate the products to display in your YouTube store
Click ‘Create Own Selection’ to customize what products your fans will see. This is where you get to be strategic about what you’re promoting.
Products will show up in your channel store and displayed below your videos in a product shelf. Think of this as your digital storefront window — make it count!
3. Tag products in your videos and reap the rewards
Once your video is ready, simply select it from your content library, and go to “Products” then “All Stores.” Pick your Spring store from the list of connected stores, then select the products you want to tag.
Products will show up right inside your videos, for fans to engage with while they watch your content. This is interactive shopping at its finest — viewers can click on products that catch their eye without ever leaving your video!
4. Add products to your live stream for maximum impact
Before your live stream, plan ahead and tag the products you’d like to feature. Simply select an upcoming stream, select ‘Shopping’ and ‘Customize’ to pick your items and have them ready!
Live streams are engagement goldmines — capitalize on that real-time connection by making it super easy for your audience to shop your merch while chatting with you.
How to Get the Most Out of Your Spring x YouTube Integration
Setting up the integration is just the beginning. To truly maximize your revenue potential, here are some strategic ways to leverage this powerful combo:
Tip 1: Plan out your marketing and sales
If you haven’t already, now’s the time to start thinking in terms of campaigns. Find your best selling products, then find ways to integrate them into your YouTube videos. You can choose which products you want to show in which video, so your funnels can be evergreen.
Pro move: Create themed content that naturally ties to specific merch. Talking about your morning routine? Tag your branded mug or hoodie. Doing a fitness video? Feature your workout gear.
Tip 2: Go back and add products to your top-performing content
If you’ve got a video that continues to get viewed, go back and add products under it. The beauty of YouTube is that your standout content can be an amazing source of new fans. The Spring integration helps you turn them into customers faster!
Think about it — that tutorial you made two years ago that still gets thousands of views every month? That’s a perpetual sales opportunity just waiting to be tapped.
Tip 3: Use live streams to your advantage
Live streams create urgency and FOMO — perfect conditions for sales! Before going live, plan which products you’ll highlight and have them tagged and ready to go.
Consider running exclusive promotions during your streams. If you want to increase urgency, mention a special discount code that’s only valid during the live stream to drive immediate sales.
Tip 4: Cross-promote your merch naturally in your content
The most successful creators make product mentions feel organic. Reference your merch naturally in your content: “I’m wearing our new limited edition tee that just dropped” or “The hoodie I have on is available in my store — link in the description and in the product shelf below!”
Tip 5: Track what works and double down
Pay attention to which products get the most clicks and purchases through your YouTube integration. Use these insights to inform future product development and content creation.
